Let's learn about us

Who is steve?

Steve Watts began teaching in Japan in 2002, and saw how easily children could learn English – not using translation, but the natural way – using gestures, emotion, and repetition. Above all, he believed in making learning FUN! Over the next 20 years, he developed an engaging, interactive method of language learning, creating the innovative WOW! teaching materials, and the hugely-popular Steve and Maggie YouTube channel. And now he’s here with edutainment toys.

Who’s Maggie?

Maggie Magpie joined Steve in his colourful, playful world with the publication of the WOW! Kindergarten series in 2013. Mischievous Maggie is Steve’s best friend, always ready for a crazy adventure. Children love her playful personality and the funny situations she creates with her “Maggie Magic”!

How come it works?

Steve and Maggie videos are not your standard YouTube videos – they provide interactive, educational fun. Children listen to the stories and repeat after Steve, they copy his gestures and answer his questions – all the time improving their language skills. Words and phrases are set into the context of everyday life, and the feeling of success which children get when learning something new motivates them to keep going. 20 million children are now playing and learning thanks to our YouTube videos.

Is that all?

We are learning with Wow!English. Which is series of edutainment materials with which to teach English to children of between 3 and 11 years of age. Children in 25+ countries are learning with Wow! materials at language schools, kindergartens, and primary schools. The distributor of commercial rights to Steve and Maggie products and the Steve and Maggie brand all over the world is the British Film Studios and Publishing House Wattsenglish Ltd.
